Why is it that intimacy, in all aspects is so unbelievably more intense with a bipolar person than with someone who isn't bipolar? I think I have an idea,I would like to know your experiences. Please throw your thoughts this way.

Bi polar people feel emotions much more strongly than others because of their introspective nature.
Most of us are extropective and feel emotions closer to the surface, and therefore not as intensely.

Quite simply because during manic and hypomanic phases, bipolar sufferers often become hypersexual (me included). Sex becomes an insatiable need and very intensely passionate. Personally, during hypomanias before I completely lost the plot and became fully manic I would crave any form of physical and emotional intimacy. Unfortunately, as the episode spiralled out of control I would usually require more and more sex, and would become abusive.
I guess that if your experience has been just the intensity bit, your partner has only been hypomanic.

I have no experience with men who are/were bipolar because that is a bit scary but I would think it would be so extreme(intimacy) because thats what bipolars are. one extreme or the other, so you can either meet a bipolar person who is very intimate or one who is not intimate at all.

they are taking you with them for the ride....giving you a feeling about their internal world.....my ex is bi-polar so i know what you mean.... i feel like my chest is tightening up just thinking about it...lol.... he could make me feel amazing and happy ect ect then make me feel like I was crazy.. complete sh*t.... *sigh*

it all depends on if they are taking their meds or not. they are very intense on every emotion, the sex is great, but dont piss them off.
