In 2 nights, 3 people biatched about the refs. It is the most pathetically biased refereeing system in the world. They are pathetic refs. Everyone laughed at Brett Hull and Mario when they complained about the officiating. You can call it whining if you want but it's not whining - it's called getting SHAFTED. All that frigin referee had to do was look at the replay and/or listen to the crowd reaction to see what the correct call was. Forsberg, Hartley and MacT all bitched in 2 days. Are they all whiners? No. They know when a league is a "garage league" as Mario has called it many times as he's getting raped by some ECHL'er for 100feet down the ice. Dateline should do a show on Mario and how many times HE got raped while dragging a guy down the ice to score phenomenal goals...

Wonder why the attendance is down this season? Gee. Anaheim had NINE powerplays last night and Pittsburgh had 2!!! If your team has alot of young players, the refs will screw with them all season as well. Witness Crosby last year and now they're doing the same shiet with Malkin too. If you look at the ref the wrong way, you get a penalty. The NFL isn't this way. They call it a hell of alot better than this joke of a league.

The games tend to sway to teams that have more experience. That's why only a Captain can come over and yell at the referees. It's like any other job. You have to kiss *** to the refs (supervisors). NHL is a business and I betcha they want Anaheim to win it this season with that queer Niedermayer on Defense. Every NHL team has a beef with the refs. To me this is worse than the lockout. They can't even get the god damn Center Ice package to work half the time!!!!!!!!! It's a terribly run league right now. With all the technology they have and with it being such a fast game, I think they should incorporate more technology into the game for replays. Hell they keep a camera on you while you take a dump in a casino so why not use it to watch all the referee screw-ups?

Yes, it was a bad call, but the Oilers aren't the only team that
gets screwed by a bad call in the NHL. It happens to other teams
as well, and yes, they got screwed in that game. The Oilers coach got fined for his remarks following the game on Friday.
The NHL acknowledged the fact the referee, Mick McGeough,
made the wrong call, on a play late in the game, and he admitted
it to the media that he was wrong. It's the NHL's fault for letting
the decision stand, not the referee's, because the NHL makes the
rules for the league. The referees and linesmen are there to
enforce the rules, not make the rules.

Yes, that was a bad call, but chalk it up to human error. It happens to every team in every sport. And the coach got fined because he said it was "a retarded call" - not the most adult way of handling things. The ref did apologize and admitted that he had made a mistake - like an adult would. Things happen and you can't change them, so you just gotta let it go.

They did get screwed, but not just once. In an interview with Kevin Lowe , it is said Colin Campbell phoned Lowe just seconds after the bad call to apologize what had happen.
So if that was the case and he was so quick to react and phone down to Lowe why didnt he phone down to the ref's booth and reverse the call. A double whammy...

THE REF SAID HE MADE A MISTAKE.
IT WAS NOT EVEN HIS CALL .
IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN UP TO THE LINESMAN TO CALL
