OOH! Pick Me! Pick Me!

The first thing you have to do, no exceptions, is start keeping a dream journal. You have to let yourself know (on a practical level) that dreams are important to you. Everytime you wake up, write down SOMETHING, even if it's just "I don't remember any dreams this morning". This will also help you start remembering more dreams, which is way important because you can actually forget lucid dreams just like regular ones... then what's the point, you know?
At the same time, read all you can about lucid dreaming. Saturate your mind with it. Check out the links below (some of my favorites), read books (local library?) watch movies (What Dreams May Come, The Cell, Waking Life, Vanilla sky).
Also at the same time, start doing reality checks. Get a brand new digital watch just for this purpose, and everytime you think about dreaming, do a reality check (I'm assuming you know what this is, if not check the links)
This Full Frontal Attack approach is a good way to have your first, but after that, use the techniques desribed in the material (i can't write all that here)

It might not happen right away. DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU THAT IT WILL. 4uck all those sites about "instant success" and "Secret Formulas" and all that. It took me about a month and a half to have my 1st lucid dream, it's taken other people longer, but you Can do it. And it is so worth it.

There is no sure way to achieve a lucid dream. Some things that have been helpful for others are: 1. Keep a dream journal. Every time you wake up record everything you remember about your dream. Keep a notebook and pen near your bed. Write it all down as soon as you wake up, even in the middle of the night when you get up to pee. 2. Establish a pattern while you are awake, and try to alter reality. For instance, every time you look at your watch pay attention to the time, look away and tell yourself to see something different when you look back. If it changes, you are dreaming and have gained control of your dream. Try to stay calm when this happens. Getting too excited over the realization of a lucid dream can easily wake you.

keep a notebook by your bed and write all the things down that you dreamed about as soon as you wake up. This will help your mind become more concious of what your dreaming about and youll gett better and better about recalling dreams and your mind will try harder to remember the dreams while your in them and than you will start to realize that you are in them

we talked about this in one of my psychology classes once, throughout the week when you're doing various things ask "am I dreaming?" the question will insert itself in your dreams and at that point you can take over.

I got here through another question and I would like to know how to stop. When you are taken there and can't control it well, it can be rather terrifying.
