This is a very good question. The Republicans ALWAYS add more taxes to the poor working class people and give the rich a huge tax break. GO FIGURE

They don't. How could they?
The poor are basically a ward of the state and are supported by the wealthier taxpayers among us since they are the ones paying the overwhelming majority of all personal income taxes.
You have that question backwards. (although many poor do not feel that way)
Know the facts and you may actually feel refreshed being informed.

We don't. We do not steal from the poor, they steal from us!!!
Many of us don't feel that we should have to support people who are too stupid or lazy to work or all the people looking for a free ride at our expense. By the way, I am a lot closer to poor than rich but I am not trying to steal from others, I work for my money.
