I don't smoke marijuana, but I think that if it will help people it should be legalized.

The federal government thinks it should control this issue, even if the pot is used for medical reasons, and even if there is no commercial aspect to it at all. This is based on their argument that, despite being illegal, pot is a comm product, and thus any usage falls within their interstate commerce powers.

The states think that the states should be able to regulate medical practices, without the federal government interfering. The Supreme Court ruled a few years back that the states have no say in the matter, and the federal government can do pretty much whatever it wants in the arena. As long as anyone is buying pot, it is commercial, and thus within Congressional power to control.

Our leaders are in the pockets of big business. Pot will soon be legal. Today's pot smokers are tomorrows law makers. Go to marijuana.com. Read if you can. There are legal for profit drugs distributed by hypocrite doctors that kill 17,000 people a year.Cigarettes kill 400,000 a year, then there is the countless deaths from alcohol. cannabis oil is what helped Jesus bare the pain. We will find that THC is going to be the wonder bread of the future.Marijuana was not illegal anywhere until our American government under pressure from industries that profited from making it a crime. There was a time here in America our government forced farmers to grow it because it was needed as a rope. George Washington grew it for rope. There was a time hemp was second in value only to oil and gold. Wood and steel industries along with textiles and drug companies are threatened by its' presents. Then there is all the money being made from busting people,Judges, lawyers, probation supervisors, court cost, fines, the list just doesn't end . Pot makes booko bucks for many of the so called do gooders. Piss test them . I bet they all smoke. Nevada, Colorado, they are wising up. The people are going to vote on the question. There are 11 or 12 other states thinking to do the same. This is the voice of the people. The same people that makes this country work. They do it everyday. The sweat, the toil and hard work. All they want is to be able to go home at night relax and smoke a joint. A time will come soon when we will rise against these prohibitionists and say enough is enough. We have had laws on the books against pot for 70 years now. That has not stopped the people .
If you study a little history you will realize soldiers brought pot back from Nam. Just as cigarettes were spread to our boys in WW1 same time the mass cigarette rolling machine was invented. Then the smoke co. gave out free smokes in C-RATs for all GIs ask your grandpa. They knew they needed a business base, and guess what they got one. STAND UP SPEAK OUT!!
Don't end up a POT POW.

That's not a question, but if it were I'd say no!! I watched my dying mother suffering from bouts of nausea that no medicine would cure. (One was given three times a day, more often if she couldn't hold it down for 30 mins, at $35. a pill!!) Nothing worked. She wouldn't allow me to get or give her anything illegal....I can only wonder if it would have helped. During that time I did a lot of reading on the subject, and I think it definitely helps some patients medically....and it's legalization is long overdue!

I think you phrased this in a rather ambiguous way--but I'll try to answer with my opinion. DEFINITELY for medical reasons. Yet frankly, I find its not being legal AT ALL more than illogical. Alcohol is legal--driving drunk, violent rages (sometimes fatal), as well as plain old cigarettes that create all kinds of health problems, not the least of which is cancer. I have NEVER known anyone smoking pot, inclined to get in a car, or even move, for that matter! & it does NOT lead to "hard" drugs. Opponents, (who usually oppose almost anything they don't do themselves) claim it burns out your brain. Hmmm. Certainly ANYTHING in excess can impact your behaviour, like feeling "mellow" all day & not getting anything done. Marijuana DOES relieve pain. From your question, I've no idea what your position is, but this is mine. Okay?

I think it's fine if it is for medical reasons. Marijuana is a drug. It has medical properties. Mophine is a drug. It has medical properties. both used for pain in different ways. marijuana isn't physically addictive like other drugs. Sure mental addiction is an option, but it is a much safer drug than other prescribed drugs with real addiction.

Just because you put a question mark at the end of a statement does not make it a question.
As to your statement, I think you are wrong and ill-informed. IF you had done any research into the beneficial uses of Hemp ( including Marijuana) you would see that the prohibition on this plant is wrong and unjust.

Do your Homework. Statements such as yours are born from ignorance and misinformation.

I have seen first hand the medical benefits of marijuana and I believe it is easier to control it if it is legal. You can start by letting employers test and fire people for using it.

It really amazes me that it can be so "obvious" that women should have the right to remove whatever they want to from their bodies without anyone else's permission, yet the right to inhale the smoke of a particular plant is everyone's business.
