weird sounds and says I have a text message but won't let me collect it. I'm not too sure what's wrong. Can cell phones die? It is definately NOT out of batteries as it was charged last night. Any ideas?

I would take it in to where you got it from and have them look at it. If it's still under warrenty they'll get you a new one. If not they might work something out with you anyway. It's worth a shot if your phone's that messed up.

Could it be that one of the buttons has jammed in the down position?

it might be time for a new battery- regardless of whether you charged it, it wont charge now.
