I was once told that it was an evolutionary feature - that in prehistoric times cavemen used to sleep outdoors on hilly terrain. And sometimes in the night they would roll down hill to their death. Over time, they developed a self-defense mechanism called morning wood that acted like a kickstand, preventing them from rolling down hill at dawn's early light. Those who got morning wood survived and passed their genes on and now all men get it in the wee hours of morning - even though we don't sleep outside on hilly terrain any more.

-Is this true?

I don't think it's true. Its natural, probably part of the sleep cycle. Or the body is just checking to make sure it works. My boyfriend though, he gets one sometimes. He doesn't remember many of his dreams, although while sleeping he has "cupped" my chest and put his other hand "elsewhere", trying to "activate" me. I wake up, but nothing else really happens, and he never wakes up. No big deal, he doesn't hurt me or anything, totally non-forceful. I just pull the hands and set them on his chest, or make him hold my hand.

Men who sleep on hills are quite safe and do not roll down to their deaths.

The Good Lord, in his infinate wisdom, made sure that as soon as a man fell asleep his willy would go very hard.

If he rolled over in his sleep, his willy would prop him up and thus save him from a terrible death.

The Lord works in mysterious ways!

Verily, amen.

I think not. I asked myself this the other day and I propose that it goes hand in hand with holding ones pee in all night. I think while we sleep we pinch off the pee which also pinchs blood off in the wang thus causing the morning wood.

It is because testasterone levels are the highest in the morning. Perhaps to motivate us men and get us through the day?

The first time I answered your question in all seriousness, thinking you didn't really know - now I just think you're being a goof, I hope this isn't a repeating question, as those are just annoying to many people.

Are you stupid or what??? If you believe that load of bullshit then I feel sorry for you. And what about women??? Did those unfortuante women just roll down the hill to their death. Then we would only have a world full of men.
