My friend and I have been friends for 13yrs. We work together. We basically like sisters coz she & I knows everything about us..until 1 day we were out smoking with some of our co-workers, and I don't know how did we end up talking about left handed people, and my friend all of the sudden made a comment that left handed are "losers"! I couldn't believe what I've heard (because I'm a LEFT handed) I look at her & told her that "you know that I'm a left handed?" and she said that she didn't know. I was hurt...so I walked away and didn't talk to her for the rest of the day. The next day I was waiting for her to apologize, but instead she told me that I was over reacting and don't take it seriously! Was I over reacting?..was I upset with her for commenting left handed loser?...or maybe disappointed that she didn't know that I'm a left handed?

my friend and I are OK now...she even gave me a belated b-day gift and said on the tag "Happy B-day to my "lefty" friend".

No, you are not over react! How possibily she have been your friend for 13 years, yet don't know you are left handed? She is just biased against left handed. I am a left handed too. My friends always said left handed people are generally smarter. Which I think is quite true. During my school time, I never study after school, but yet I got 5 distinctions during my GCE "O" Level. Don't matter she know or don't know you are a left handed, sad to say, she is a loser.

Yeah, I would say you are overreacting. Some people dont really pay attention to details like that. I forget that my BEST friend is left handed sometimes. So you're definitely overreacting.

The whole situation is a little bit immature on both of your parts. Just tell her that you're sorry for overreacting and go on with your life.

How can a good fren of '13' years dunno that you are left handed. Sorry, but I cannot accept this fact, u are not over reacting, just too disappointed how a lousy fren she is.

This is not like you have a mole hidden somewhere that cannot be seen, for 13 years, sure she writes, dine, do sports etc with you ! That only show how much she cares abt you.

For me I cannot accept that.

i think that you just over reacted a little. i would be a little hurt if i were to know a person for 13 yrs. and if they didn't know simply if i was right or left handed. but yeah you just over reacted.
