Colorism meaning prejudice from other blacks because of your shade. Sometimes high yalla blacks have elitist prejudice towards dark-skinned blacks, and sometimes dark-skinned blacks act the same towards them. I think it's really really sad. And what's with the high yalla bias in beauty pageants, you know, if it were a contest between a beautiful dark-skinned girl and a mediocre light-skinned girl, the light skinned girl wins. Grow up!

I think that is sad too. I haven't been a victim of colorism, but my cousin has. She is a darker shade of brown. She moved out to live in California with my aunt for one year, and she said she used to get picked on by lighter skinned black people all of the time during school. They would call her ugly, and try to beat her up all of the time, just because she's dark skinned. This was a pre-dominately black school in Long Beach, and she was scared because she didn't expect this type of behavior from her own race.

Hell yeah I have. When I was younger I experience it all the time but now that I'm an adult I really don't get that. What so funny is that all the people that teased me for being dark skinned are saying how young and smooth my skin looks. I'm am 35 and people think I'm in my early twenties.

Yes I have many times, and the very thought of it numbs my mind.

Man! We get hit for being who we are from other races AND our own race. I'm beginning to suspect that God does not like us Black people.

That's sad to know. That's like racism inside another racism.
