A good forecast is one that is reasonably close to what happens after it has been made.

When what they said is what I actually see/feel/saw. I can tell you now, they're almost always wrong unless the weather is on a run. Like, if it's summer, bright sun, and over 100, it lasts nearly 2 months... it's expected. But when they say it's gonna be that and you wake up to 70 and clouds, oh yea... talk about a mood damper.

The weather is extremely unpredictable. That's why weatherman are paid so much just to examine the weather over past few hours, the day before, the same day a year ago, and what the weather in surrounding cities is going through based on the direction of the jet stream. It's nearly all a guess. I guess some of them guess more accurately than others.

Otherwise, the best forecast is looking out your window when you wake up. Kind of gives you a good idea of what the day will be into. If you see clouds, grab a jacket. Simple.

When the weatherman says it's cloudy, I usually look out the window. My God, he is so right.
