I have heard this since I was a little girl and never knew what it meant. It is not something dirty is it?

In the 1800's people called the ladies at the circus sideshows who wiggled and writhed in exotic costumes "HOOT-CHI COOT-CHI" dancers. Like "come see Little Egypt" It was considered very shocking.
