Daniel D.

the above person is pretending to be an ebay seller and has already scammed AU$490.00 from me.
Is there any way to confirm this persons authenticity?

the following is the first email sent to me:

I am the eBay seller of Item number 330042114042.You expressed interest in my item by bidding, however the auction has ended with another eBay member as the high bidder. Because the winner of my auction didn't respond to my emails after winning the auction, I want to issue a second chance offer to you. There are a lot of bidders who bid on the auction for fun and I hope you are serious buyer and we can make a clear deal. If you accept my second chance offer we will be eligible for eBay services associated with a transaction, such as fraud protection. To purchase my item please reply me.

P.S. If you are interested i will wait your reply asap.

Thank you!

Go to Yahoo Mail, Options, General Preferences.
Opt to receive the full header.

If you still have the e-mail, or if/when you get another, select and copy the entire message, including the header, then paste it in the message box and send to eBay. They want to know about their site being used for scams. By including the full header, you enable eBay to track the person.

It's a spam message. If you're in doubt, copy the email and forward it to Ebay customer support. they will be able to authenticate or debunk this email.
