this should be simple but somehow my answer is not matching up with what my book is giving me.

ok, to be more specific, in the () it is 1/2x^2 and the answer the book has is 16x^3. the entire question looks like this. x^3+(1/2x^2)^3=6x(1/2x^2). the left side of the equal sign I have already figured out to be x^6... so the left side is the problem.

Finally the last part should be 1/2x^2 not 1 over 2x^2... just so there is no confusion... any help I would appreciate... calculus midterm tomorrow

do you mean 6x([1/2]x^2)?
if so 3x^3
or 6x(1/(2x^2))?
then its 3x^-1

6x(1/2x^2)
6x(1/4)x^2
6/4x^3
3/2x^3

=6x 1/4
=3/2
or
1.5 u should have also written the answer in the question.
