In high school, I hung out with the jocks, although I was not one.
It was a small school and you were either in the popular crowd (jocks) or you were a nerd.
In college, hmmm, anti prep. I was a bit of a rebel.
Now? According to my darling children I'm a class A nerd, ROFLOL!!!!

In between prep and jock. Still am. I do many athletic activities during the summer with groups....Mainly always leaned toward the preppy side.

I used to belong to a mixed group in high school. Not the most popular, but not nerds either.

I was that very very rare all of the above guy. I was mostly a metal head rocker type guy but I knew people in all groups and I found that if I didn't judge people that they in turn would not judge me. My freinds would ask me why I talked to these guys or why I would hang out with those guys. I like to think that they were jealous of each other for stealing my company.

None. When I was in school I played basketball but I still didn't consider myself a jock. I was just me.
