Just use the McAfee complete suite. It should offer to turn off the XP firewall for you, if not you can shut it off. Using both slows down traffic. Zone Alarm is FREE because it is SPY WARE.............

The windows XP firewall is practically useless. It blocks ports, but doesn't do much for you. McAfee keeps track of which programs are trying to access the internet. Use McAfree.

Switch it on, and if some programs cannot work, go to the Firewall settings, Exeptions Tab and add the program there so firewall does not block it.

Neither, go to www.zonelabs.com and get the free version of Zone Alarm. Drop the pitifully underpowered WinXP firewall and the bloated monser of a program McAfee

You only need one. Try the windows one and do not buy Mcafee because it is a pain

you are supposed to use the Windows FW by default. But if u wanna other one, The McAfee is really a good one.!
U can't use both them together.! Disable Windows FW, and get start using the McAfee one.!
