We need to finish what we started, agree with starting it or not.....it does need to be finished. Cutting and running now will mean that 2000+ of our boys have died in vain. We can finish what was started but we need to change our strategy. Rumsfeld needs to let the Commanders on the ground dictate policy & strategy and if they want more troops for the short term than give them what they want. Right now we have 15 of the 18 provinces under control and they are moving forward peacefully, although the national media won't tell you that. They focus on the negatives and not all the positives that we are doing in that country. Yes the death toll is rising, but I'd rather our military fight the terrorists in Bahgdad than New York City, Washington D.C., L.A., Chicago. We need to get the Iraqi army up to strength and support them, not lead the way. If we leave Iraq like we did Vietnam, the consequences are going to be much worse. That fledgling democracy will become a radical Islamic state and that will not be a good thing for the region and the world.

The argument that the enemy is not in your front yard by this Dem is just as foolish as the enemy is all around paranoia that the Reps started up. There is an enemy. Let's be tactful and resourceful, not blow all our energy on Iraq when Kim Jong Il made threats on the eve of our attacks and the terrorists who blew up the WTC lived in Iran and Afghanistan.

We needed to address some of this. We needed to be more convincing to the world, because they didn't believe the WMD garbage.

And the reason there are no Iraqi (terrorists, I presume you mean) in your bushes is because the Bush we intelligent people voted for has been keeping them tied up in knots on their own turf. Really, it's safe to come out and join the rest of us in Reality Land now.
