I remember Kobe haters use to use the excuse to say that Kobe was a ball hog, well maybe he was. But you can't say that about him now, i bet he's not even gonna be scoring leader this year, hell, i even think Odom is gonna be the top scorer for the Lakers this season. Kobe is an outstanding player and he is the closest thing to MJ, even MJ will tell you that, and Charles Barkley who played against him even said Kobe is the best basketball player ever. Last time a guy said that all Kobe can do is shoot, that is the dumbest thing i ever heard. Kobe can Dunk, he's a better shooter than MJ, can get inside the paint anytime he wants, he can shoot the 3's, he can pass, the list goes on. The guy scored 81 points!!And for the people who start saying Mj has more rings than Kobe, Kobe is still young and has a lot of basketball left in him, so don't start saying that yet until he retires. Anyone who has a player like Kobe can win a championship. And he still has a lot of time to win the MVP.
There won't ever be a player like MJ, but there will never be a player like Kobe either. Kobe and Jordan are the best players of all time. Lebron is great, but not as good as Kobe, Lebron is a big fan of Kobe and admires him a lot, and Wade is pretty good too.

And u said Kobe hasnt won a championship by himself, but look at it this way, he is a ROOKIE in being a leader of the team, Shaq was the leader when he was in the Lakers, now Kobe is. I agree....I was trying to keep my answer short , there are allot of Kobe haters out there and that's cool...I'm a Laker fan, and I know for sure the Lakers would not have won half their games last year w/out him.....and right now there is no one in the league as good as Kobe..bad knee and all..3 rings and counting....because Kobe don't play those games in the media like "Look at me this is what I;m doing for the kids here" and to most people Kobe seems full of himself, fact is he grew up in Italy so I guess there goes his street credit, but this isn't about that, he is the best player in the game because he ex cell on both ends of the court...you can't say that about any other so called superstar in the league today. Iverson shooting percentage is way too low. Lebron makes nice commercials and one day will be the best in the game, Wade is nice too but can't guard my grandmother.
Everyone is entitled to there own opinion, but when making one, use common sense people. I don't even want to hear T Mac in this conversation, I think he's only been in the playoffs once in his career.

It's a team game. The LA Clippers who individually lack the abilities of Kobe, will beat the Lakers in the standings and go further in the playoffs because the Lakers do not play team ball. They play pass it to Kobe. Look at Corey Magette who is willing to be a 6th man to help the team. Kobe would pitch a hissy fit before he ever did anything like that. He drove Shaq out of town and who won the NBA championship last year? Not prima donna Kobe. I was glad for Shaq and I'll be glad when the Clips outperform the Lakers again this year.

Why do people HATE him?
He's arrogant.
He's greedy (see the jersey switch if you don't think he's GREEDY!)
He's standoff-ish to fans.
He got caught cheating on his wife, and bought her off.
He's a rapist.
He's a liar.
He's a poor team mate.
His ego is too big for most other players to deal with.
He got his own coach fired. (only to "allow" him to return later.)
He got a popular player (and CHAMPIONSHIP player) traded.
He's aloof.
He didn't help his image by tanking in the Lakers last finals appearance.
Now, to address a few of your other points:
If ANYONE can win a championship with him.... well, what has happened the last two years?
If you think Kobe is one of the best two players EVER... then you have never heard of Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlin, Magic Johnson, Elgin Baylor, Bill Russell, etc.
Kobe is NOT the best. So, he scored a boatload of points in one game... whoopdee do.
Does he make ANYONE on his team better? I KNOW he makes Lamar Odom worse.
Oh, and I don't think Kobe has a LOT of basketball left in him. The boos on th road get old. He has plenty of money... and has been playing in the NBA since he was 18. So, he will be an OLD 30. (IF he is still in the league at that time.)

I seem to remember last year in NBA playoffs when Lakers were leading suns 3-1. Kobe said that it was a lot of fun playing unselfishly which he was doing. After quiting in game 7, Kobe said that the team could not win without him shooting.
Kobe is overated by people like you. Michael Jordan led the Bulls to 6 championships. Kobe is not a leader and is a big old baby

Not, he mailed it in Game 7 last year vs. Phoenix. That tells me all I need to know about Kobe. Incredibly gifted, but he lacks leadership and team play. It's not his fault really, he never learned those traits because he didn't go to college.
