In all honesty, don't think too hard about it right now. All your possible ambitions firstly require a college degree, which means you have plenty of time before you have to make a hard-and-fast decision. Think about what kind of things you like to do, and when you decide to apply to colleges, choose a major that goes with something you're interested in. Remember, you can always change your major later too, if you feel differently about it later. All this won't come for a couple more years anyway (applying to college that is, since you're a freshman right now). Once you're in college, you'll be able to figure out just what it is that you want to do. Sure, there are some people who know exactly what they want to be, but the majority of people figure out what they want to do with their lives in college at some point. Taking different classes, getting different experiences, you will learn what you want to spend the rest of your life doing. Don't hurry to make that decision, or you might regret it years later doing something you hate. Just take your time, enjoy life, and your career decision will come easily to you! Best of luck!!

You are at an exciting time in your life! Do not let "everyone" decide your life plan. Most people do not have a specific goal this early. Make sure that you are taking enough math and science courses that you can do what you want. High grades in English/Language Arts and any type of course in Communication Skills or Computer Skills will help you no matter what you choose.
Try some volunteer jobs to help you clarify what you would like to do.
All the best...

First of all to be a doctor or a nurse, you need to be able to handle the blood and guts stuff and to be a lawyer you have to present these kinds of evidence in court due to a murder or something like that. Can you handle that looking at blood and guts? If you can, then lets move to the next step, are you a very intelligent student, straight A's, who can get into these kind of schools? If so, can you handle borrowing thousand, thousand of dollars to attend to these 7 year long educational schools? Another thing can you handle doing a case to protect a criminal who sexually assault young kids? They may look like they make good money, but in reality it is tough stuff to work in. To be a lawyer, another thing you have to know is how to be a good liar. To be a fashion Designer is also hard work, and also very competitive, but don't have to put up with blood and guts. I suggest watching operating shows and see if you can handle watching doctors in operation. Or try going to court for a day as a buddy system with a lawyer to see what it is like to be a lawyer, but ask them first if they are willing to take you in and tell them it is a career research. Remember all these people work long hours, and can be stressful. Do the same for the rest of your career research too. Do follow your heart and like the ones you would like to do when it comes career choices. Also, always have a back up career too just in case the first one never works out and take all Science, Math, English, Social courses at high school to be sure you have the requirement to get into those colleges. Many of us still are trying to figure out what we want to do, so don't panic if you can't figure out right away. It does not happen over night. Good luck.

Just go to a good college. and make up your mind there. You have plenty of time to decide. Someones pushing you to hard ... Probably because they love you and don't want you to make the mistakes they did.
They want you locked in to a career that will bring you stability, status and wealth ... hey, I told you they cared about you, but if you decided to be a Buddhist monk, or an actor, or an artist, or a philosopher, or maby a fashion designer what would they say.
I think they would support you anyway ... after some resistance.
Follow your own path, follow your own nature, be yourself, and don't let anyone rush you. You are just beginning, relax and see what happens next.
Yours with understanding;

You know, I remember everyone telling me that too - and it paralyzed me. I was so afraid of picking the wrong career, that I never picked. I went to Junior College - not that I wasn't smart enough for University, but that I hadn't made up my mind what I wanted to do. It took me nearly 20 years to get my Bachelors - because I couldn't get over this fear. Guess what I finally learned? It doesn't matter. Study something you love - but don't get too hung up on it. Once you are in the real world - you are likely to change your mind. I ended up interested in a field I'd never heard about in High School - and found out that that doesn't matter either - most people change career fields 8 times in their lives - isn't that wild? And, if you find you want to, getting a second Bachelor's is a lot easier than your first! So, GO TO COLLEGE and get your degree. Go out in the world and do what you studied - but don't feel like you are closing doors behind you. You have WAY more options if you stick it out and find something you THINK you will like rather than worry about everything having to be perfect so you can set it in stone. It will never be perfect, but it will never be set in stone either.
Best of luck!!!

I think the best think would be to look for volunteer opportunities in those areas that interest you. This way you can have an idea about what you are getting yourself into. You will have first hand information and after high school, I am of the opinion that you will be in a better position to make a choice of what you want to be.

Check to see if they have an apptitude testing at your school, the guidance department can help you with that. You could also contact folks that have the various jobs you listed and see if they are willing to let you interview them about their jobs and how they decided on that career, and what they like best about it.
Good luck!
