Normally you don't get signs but yellowish green mucus doesn't sound right, I think you should ring the hospital and tell them as it could be something or nothing but its better to talk to the health care provider, when your mucus plug comes away it is normally a pinkish red even clear jelly look, I would ring the doctor now because your baby may be distressed and you might have to go up to the hospital and be monitored.
When my water broke with my son I felt a pop and this was 5 mins before he was born, my daughter was a constant leak for hours, I busted my waters with my daughter, I felt to see how dilated I was and then it started to leak.
Best wishes.

That yellowish green stuff is your mucous plug. Thats what is developed at your cervix to protect the fetus.
I went through terrible "contractions" just to find out it was the babys head pushing down on my pelvic bone.
My sister in law is 6 days overdue and she has been discharging her mucous plug for 4 days. Her water still hasn't broke. Check with your maternity ward, you should be able to call up and they may have an answer. Next time you have your contractions time the length and the time between, if it lasts longer (the pain) and the time between shortens, you are probably going into labour.

It could be your "mucus plug" coming out. That is the "plug" that is in the entrance to your cervix. It can come out any time after 8 months to right up to your delivery. For my second daughter, I woke up in the morning, feeling a little wet- just like having normal discharge. I went to the bathroom, and as I stood up, my water broke... it just gushed out all over the floor. It soaked through the sweat pants I had on, and I had to call to my hubby to help me change clothes and take a quick shower. I did not feel sick at all, and actually just put on a pad and ate some breakfast before we left for the hospital (I recommend this... they won't let you eat anything once you are admitted to the hospital). Good luck!

Sounds like you are getting ready for the uterus to dialate. The mucosa membrane sort of breaks away and all of this is preparing you for the birthing process. Has the baby dropped down in your belly the past day or two? That is usually a sign too. The baby turns and gets in position. Good luck. Stay calm but be ready. Rest if you can. Your back might start hurting too. My last one was stuck in a position for three days before she got turned and my back hurt the whole time. That was a long time ago. Man am I old. good luck to you!

In addition to what others have told you... when you have a contraction, do the opposite of what you are doing to see if it continues. Like if you were sitting watching tv, get up and walk around or visa versa... if you are active and you have contractions, go sit down and put up your feet. In true labor nothng will stop the contractions.
Good Luck

that happened to me this weekend. I had menstrual like cramps and then greenish mucus different than usual and I seen my doctor today and she told me it was my plug and as long as no blood or a gush of water than it is OK. women can loose there plugs up to four weeks early. but call your doctor if there is any changes in your baby's normal moments and if it helps call for reassurance you don't need to stress. good luck

I agree with nanaboobo, Nothing should be green. A little yellow maybe but not green. I think that's a sign of an infection or something.
