Snoring that loud is probably a symptom of sleep apnea, a serious condition that can cause many other health problems, including heart damage and death!
Your wife moving to another room should be a "wakeup call" for you - you need to see a sleep doctor ASAP. Do not delay - this can be very serious.
Sleep apnea is sometimes treated surgically, but results are often not that good - depends on your individual situation. The most common treatment is for the snorer to use a night breathing aid called a CPAP machine. This stops snoring 100%, helps the user get a good night's sleeep so s/he feels better during the day, and prevents cardiac and other complications. The machines are covered by most health insurance. If not, you can get a good one at http://www.cpap.com for $300-400, but you MUST have a prescription to buy one, as it is important that the pressure be set righ for each individual. Too little pressure will not stop the apnea, and too much can do other serious health damage.
Get to a sleep doctor/sleep clinic as soon as you can. More than just your snoring is involved.

Those Breathe Right nose strips work well. Also, don't sleep on your back. You might want to check with your doctor too. It could be a sign of sleep apnea (periods where you stop breathing).

i have researched this subject for the same reasons.
had a few laser treatments that failed.
i hear the best thing is to have the operation that removes a triangle shape piece of flesh from the roof of your mouth, this tightens the pallet(i think thats what its called)
on the downside, its meant to be a very very panfull experience that may need to be repeated after 2 or 3 years.
best wishes
