I've been on birth control for about a year now. I have not expeirenced any weight gain/loss. There can be some weight gain, but it's nothing drastic.. along the lines of 1 to 5 pounds tops.

i work for an ob/gyn (female doctor) and she told me that is a common thing she hears all the time and that it isn't true...you may gain like 2 lbs...but not enough for you or anyone else to notice...it's rare but some people can gain a ton of weight...but most people don't...she says that if you're having sex, but you don't want a kid..you have to decide if birth control is worth it...is it worth like 2 lbs...for 25-30 lbs and and a baby after the fact...but not it's a myth that it makes you fat...and that's coming from a doctor...

Not necessarily. I guess it could effect different people in different ways, but I was on the pill for five years and I did not get fat.
