I always read go to eBay. Is this the best place or are there other places that you can sell a whole collection? My magic cards are from revised to visions. Mostly revised and 4th. Then ice age and fewer of each until very little visions. I have about 5000 maybe more. My best cards are used but still good condition. Why didn't they have the card protecters back then. CRAP!!! Anyways I would like to hear from anyone who has had good luck selling and how you did it. Also I do not have a eBay account so people might not buy from me because of no history if I went in that direction.

If your cards are generally in vg/nm condition, you can sell some of them on websites like cardshark.com or blackborder.com. I believe the cardshark system has you put in your cards, but works as a middle-man (e.g. you send your cards to those that purchase them). I think Cardshark.com might also deal in YU-GI-OH.

Blackborder.com has a buy list, but you sell your cards to them, and then they sell them to their customers.

If you do opt to sell them on someplace like eBay, I recommend breaking them up either by set or by rarity. Granted, determining rarity with older sets is harder than it is now (as now they have color-coded expansion symbols). Selling everything as one bulk lot will generally reduce your overall sale price -- but on the counter, some smaller groups might be harder to sell. Be certain to emphasize what rares you have. Look through some of the completed auctions to see how sellers are selling, and emulate the successful ones.

I just sold several sets of them that I picked up at a thrift store estate day sale in my ebay store. And as far as starting to sell on eBay, everyone has to begin somewhere! Go for it!

PS I originally began on ebay by buying several items...it builds your feedback, too!! Buying a few items and establishing a pay pal account will familiarize you with the way things work.....good luck!

Why not try a local card shop or flea market? You'll get pretty much the same amount of money you'd get from eBay. Just organize them by set and get a Scrye to see what they're valued at. That way you'll have an estimate of the value of your collection.
