It's an awesome movie. It's got all the major events of the 60's-70's and the main character Forrest Gump was a part of them all. He just sits on a bench during the entire movie telling his story about being in the war and all the events that lead up to him being on that bench. The movie has excellent quotes and you should definitely see it!

This movie is actually a huge METAPHOR about how to have a happy and successful life while keeping your word to people and loving everyone and everything along life's path. It is symbolic of The Buddha of Eastern philosophy.
Some of the real outstanding performances are in the film: Sgt. Dan played by Gary Sinese, goes though his own metamorphosis because Gump touched his life. Bubbah the who was saved by Forrest, and due to Forrest's low IQ never realized the nature of danger, only about doing the brave and correct things for a friend. Gumps love of his mother, who taught him all the right life lessons so that he could become a huge success despite very low IQ...Gump's girlfriend, who finally learned what love was from Gump never givcing up on her.
B ravo to To Tom Hands as Forrest Gump. And don't forget the humor mixed in.
The chaons of life disappear when we live a life of love and iontergrity, and say YES to our world.

Forrest Gump, which stars Tom Hanks, is about a guy who is slightly handicapped, meets a girl named Jenny (they become fast friends), goes into the army, befriends a guy named "Bubba"; then Bubba dies in the war and then Forrest starts a shirmping boat. At the end of the movie, Forrest marries Jenny, but sadly she dies (not at child birth) and Forrest raises his son Forrest, Jr. It's a really great movie!

It's about a man named Forrest Gump who is mentally challenged and seeing the world in his eyes. He was on the football team, went to collage, was in Vietnam, owned a shrimping company and invested in apple computers. I love the movie, seen it over 15 times. Great movie, won a few Oscars.

Synopsis: The slow-witted hero of this light-hearted American parable unintentionally finds himself amid the great events of three decades of modern history. Tom Hanks won his second Oscar and the film took home Best Picture in part for its ingenious method of inserting the actors into archival news footage.
Incidentally, the film spawned a restaurant chain called Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, named after a character in the film who wanted to open a restaurant. The menu has many references to the film, and the food there is awesome!

Go see it it is funny, and good movie with Tom Hanks as Forrest Gump. Just rent it, you will like it.

It is a very emotional, good movie about a man who has somewhat of a mental disadvantage, not neccessarily a disorder. He falls in love with his best friend as a kid and basically spends his life lusting after her and watching after her and living his life to the fullest at the same time. He gets drafted into the army after college and the movie focuses a lot on that.
It actually has a lot of life lessons and is a very sweet show.

Oh Cupcake, What else have you been deprived of. It is one of my all time favorite movies. It is a wonderful feel good movie that will make you cry. I read the book before the movie ever came out. For once, the movie was better than the book.
Rent it this week and watch it. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll want to call your mom.

Rent it ASAP! It was a great movie, great acting.....
Tom Hanks is a superb actor, especially in this role!
