Depends on the program you have on your MAC? If you have Photoshop then use this link to see a tutorial on the subject.

If you do not have a program this check this link for MAC friendly software.

Any photo editing program Adobe Photoshop, Corel Paint Shop Pro, etc allows you to work with layers- put 1 photo per layer and manipulate each individually. This allows for effects, colors, blending, trimming, etc. to each and not the whole set for better creativity.
Good luck and have fun ;)

I'd say use appleworks (drawing or painting) and see if you can save it as a jpeg image and make sure you use the thumbnail photos if you upload your photos from a digital camera otherwise you'd have to put in a lot of work by downsizing your photos.
