Create different stations people can go to do things. You can have one where people learn to juggle, another where you create something to take home a piece of artwork that is a party favor, you can have a snack bar and a non-alcholic drink bar....where people can try foods or drinks they might not normally try. You could also have like a basketball shooting contest for atheletic typs. You could do other games and such....you could do blindfolded testing or have people touch things blindfolded. There is lots of fun cool stuff to do without dancing!

Hi italiangr...My suggestions are: Hire a "magician" (they have one's that go from table to table) for the entire affair. Also, "balloon artist's" are always fun (they create animals/silly hats). Maybe even have a "student talent show"? Post a sign up sheet at school. Be creative, you can do it! XOXO Moonpie P.S. When contacting anyone to "perform" at your affair, make sure you tell them this is for school. Most entertainers will do this for "free or minimal cost"! P.P.S...I just had another thought, since your doing a "masquerade theme" why not add a little "mardi-gras" flair? This could involve some of the students creating a "semi-gambling" atmosphere. IE; playing cards, rolling dice etc. And using "chocolate coins" for the chips. I don't mean serious "Poker/Blackjack", just playing "Go Fish" or "Yahtzee" for example? Anyway, I hope it's a success!

if you are having a formal and elegant affair i sugget a fairy tale theme. there could be a costume contest. also you could hire those strolling human tables.

they do theme parties...

it shouldn't be stiff since the guests are 13-16 so you could ...show also a video presentation of a make believe story about something in the old days (that you guys can make up) and students should be the actors and crew, get different grades to participate. one class can do the movie. get some girls and maybe some guys to do a fashion show and model some of the clothes that match your theme. have your teachers present a dance number or something so the whole school has participation and effort...
