Yes, they and their spouses and families receive a very generous stipend in the form of a pension. Additionally, they also receive other perks and benefits, such as Secret Service protection for as long as they live. When they have led our country for four or eight years, they're entitled.

They have a Federal pension, subject to regular pension rules (doesn't kick in until you are 65). But they are not paid by the Federal government anymore. Any money they get is on their own, through consulting, appearances, books, etc.

yes they have a tidy sum of money given to them each year .Maintain a staff office and all the bills that go with it .It includes travel secret service and about 3 million a year or so in expenses .

Yes. And so do senators and congressmen. Plus free health care including dental and eye. And they don't put up with the medicare and social security mess the rest of us do.

yes right now there are ford, carter, bush I, and clinton getting approximately 150,000 a year for 'retirement' plus the cost of their secret service protection for them and their spouses. i believe that adds up to a pretty penny for us tax payers.. the question is why are we paying approximately the same to congressional leaders that are no longer in office? there are more of them...
