i've already allowed gnutella in windows, so it's allowed by my firewall. I've even tried turning off my norton fire wall, but it hasn't helped. any suggestions?

Norton is smarter than you are ,i had lime wire ,liked it a lot got the pro,and everything went down hill after that ,tried to get rid of all the lime wire s but they were into the Hikey class roots ,reformated the hard disk to no avail ,in the end it actuaklly destroyed my hard disk and i head to get a new one ,
this may all be a coincidence ,dont want to point fingers,,but you do what you have to do .
to allow lime wire in you get in to panal the control .into firewall and deactivate it enter lime wire
reboot
a permission window will come up give the permission and you are on your way.
which way that is you will find out in due course
