Because they think a person can talk to the terrorists and change their minds....
Now isn't that an oxymoronic thing to think!

Why do you say that? I am a liberal Democrat. I believe that Israel should be left alone by its neighbors. At the same time I believe we were wrong in invading and destroying Iraq.

The very Republican Bush family has a long history with the royal family of Saudi Arabia. They even had ties with the bin Laden family and others in that part of the world.

Not all issue stances yield a clear line between parties and political philosophies.

thats not a view that all democrats hold thats just a very liberal postion to take on the issue. the reason however is, and youll never get a politician to admit this, is becuase israel is a terrorist state and one of the greatest threats to world peace ever. israels existance has done nothing but torute the arabs, take away land that was rightfully theirs, and near permantely destroy Americas realtionship with the arab countries in the middle east. Personally i think that we should never have reconginized israel as a state in the 1950s so that this never wouldve happened. But that was in the past so now the next best course of action would be stop giving them wepons to butcher arabs and to stop this endless supply of money to them.

They're not necessarily pro-Arab and anti-IsraeMF They just want a more balanced policy toward the individual countries in the Middle East. And why can't a person be pro-Arab? Are you going to assume that if we support an Arabic country that we are "pro terrorist?"

The U.S. must find a way to be more even handed or we can expect to see much more terrorism. We must settle the Palestinian before a fourth generation lives in those refugee camps. We need to create a Palestinian homeland, we need to butt out of the MIddle East, and we need to stop propping out dictatorships around the world. As a result of our actions, we are indirectly responsible for much killing.

When we supply Israel with the weapons to kill Lebanese civilians, who do you think those Lebanese civilians blame? Yes, the Israelis. But without our weapons, Israel would not be able to fight like it does.
