How can you open attachments on your cell phone's email?

Hey,

I want to open a ringtone that I sent to my phone via email. I hit the "1 Attachments" page, but it doesn't let me DL it (or I can't figure out a way to). Any help? I'm using a SamSung. Does it have to be in a certain format? It's just a ~20 second clip of a song, and I've emailed it in .mp3, .wav, and .3gb formats. None work.
