I've voted before, but I moved to Los Angeles this semester. A volunteer on my campus had me fill out the registration form about a month ago, since I'd be voting in a new county of California. She took all the paperwork and said she'd turn it in and I'd be able to vote November 7th. Well, that's tomorrow now and I never recieved any packet in the mail. I used the CA website to find out WHERE I'm supposed to vote, I am just afraid I'll go there and they'll say I'm not on the list or something. Since I didn't get anything in the mail I'm worried that maybe my paperwork didn't go through...Does anyone know a number I could call to make sure I'm okay to vote tomorrow? Should I just not worry about this and go anyways to the polls tomorrow? Thanks!

Thanks for information so far...people seem to be worried about my vague term "volunteer". I know she was legitimate because she was a student from the feminist majority league oncampus at USC, and they had a little booth up in the commons area registering voters.

PS, I have my Registration form reciept to bring, if that helps anything.

Just go to where you should vote and show them your ID. They probably have you on the list, unless that "volunteer" was not really working for voter registration after all.

I'm sure the girl from the feminist majority league voted for you already. They're very helpful in that way. So don't worry, your vote was already counted.

You can worry, or not, that's up to you. DO go to your polling place tomorrow, as you may be registered, the paperwork just didn't come to you. Good luck, I hope your friend got you registered, and, if you are not registered, go to your local Post Office or Library, and you can re-register correctly for the next election.

okay, so the almost the same thing happened with my mom (she moved houses in LA county). what you need to do is to call the information line (its probably listed with where you are supposed to go vote, since it sounds like you do know where the location is) and ask! yes you need to worry about it unless you do not care who runs every minute detail in your life the elections are extremely important. don't be afraid to ask questions and be demanding (but pleasent). you are (i am assuming) a legal US citizen and it is not only your right but in fact your duty to stay enfranchised!

Go to the info station at your local library. They will tell you where you are registered. aybe they dropped the ball on you. The DMV has forms and maybe the library will too. Good luck!!

Hopefully you didn't provide this 'volunteer ' too much personal info. You may need to keep an eye on your credit if so. One good thing is that if you go it may ease your mind as to what may have been done with your info. (assuming you have been registered.)
