Is George Bush hurting the Armed forces volunteers and those dying and being wounded in Iraq by advising his own Daughters to stay out of uniform? Did Cheney out his own daughter to keep her out of the Armed services?

It would be very interesting to see how many congress members children have served in actual combat (not some cushy position no where near the fighting). The way they see it, it wouldn't surprise me that if their kids did enlist, they would make sure they would never be at risk . As for bush, that weak arrogant prick would be the first to desert if he ever had to face combat, let alone have a member of his family put at risk.

When did he advise his daughters not to join the military?? I never heard that....
And if he did, think about it first. They have to have extra protection around them at all times now just because they are the President's daughters. Do you expect the secret service to follow them into battle just to watch their backs? They have extra cause for our enemies to target them personally, just because of who they are; not to mention any other soldiers that are around them.
Personally, I don't think Bush told his daughters this, but if he did, it only makes sense.
I would let my daughter decide what she wants to do with her life and if she chooses the military (any branch) I would be most proud.

Where do you come up with this rhetoric ? The US Congress agreed to send this country to Iraq- how many democratic senators sent their children? Fair question .

The military is TOTALLY volunteer. It is a personal decision for each individual to make.

I served as a registered Democrat- did you serve at all ? Or do you just sit back and enjoy the freedom of speech someone else protests for you?

My son served in the military by choice, he went to Iraq by his choice. He loves the Army and has wanted to join since he was 2. I stand by his decision that he made as a consenting adult.

Good question!! I don't pay attention to what other people are doing. I joined the Army when everyone was calling Bill Clinton a draft dodger. I am telling my children that if they want to join the Army they can, but if they don't want to it's okay too.

As someone in the military for the past six years I would have to say that your question hardly even makes sense...no one forced me to join. How do you know what he told his daughters? And why would them NOT being in Iraq hurt us? They aren't magical you know...
