Tracfone minutes are always face value. If you don't use your phone to really talk on, only for emergencies, then tracfone's for you. I got one when I had the baby because my car isn't always reliable. The actual service sucks though. I only use it for emergencies. That's all it's good for.

If you use a Cell Phone fairly regularly, the TRACFONE is NOT the way to go.... you can easily get an affordable calling plan with most of the Big Cell Phone Companys for $30-$40 per month, assuming your credit is good, and you dont have to put up a deposit for a phone.

TRACFONE has had many nightmare problems, my roomate just got a Tracfone at Target, and at first everything worked fine...
then he went to buy more time...and he spent $80 for 400 minutes but was not able to input them into the phone. Basically he got the run around for WEEKS until he DEMANDED that Target refund his money. Tracfone is a nightmare, and unless your someone who only needs a cell phone purely for emergency, THEN, AND ONLY THEN...would I possibly reccommend a TracFone. I suggest you look up TracFones "Track Record" on the internet before you spend any more money with them...They are a NIGHTMARE! Good Luck!

TracFone is awesome! It is one to one. I buy a 120 minute card and I actually get 120 minutes. No matter the time of day, unlike other prepaid programs, it is the same charge. I had a Boost at first, but I didn't think it made since to pay $1.00 per day to use my phone, so I switched to TracFone, and I have no regrets. Also, I can make international calls and am charged the same if I was call next door! I strongly suggest TracFone.

Way too much, thats why I changed to Tmobile. No a 60 unit card doesn't equal 60 mins. Go to lets talk.com and see the deal out there. I got a $50 rebate with a free phone, so they essentially paid me for the phone!!!
