What is "Freedom's Challenge"?

I need to write this for some Veterans Company to win a scholarship. Please HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!

1) RESPONSIBILITY! The more freedom a person has - the more responsibility to choose proper behavior/actions. In the U.S. all we hear from people is about their 'rights'. We rarely hear about the responsibility that is needed to 'earn those rights'. The challenge is to recognize and accept the immense responsibilities that go 'hand-in-hand' with freedom.

2) The second challenge of Freedom is to maintain/defend it. People 'born free' take it for granted. They tend not to understand the immense ongoing efforts that are needed to maintain freedom. Freedom is not the natural state of human experience. It must be fought for and constantly guarded from the easy intrusions that eventually steal it.
