No. For the past 14 years the party has come before our country. Why do you think they would change overnight. I hope they will start but it is going to be an uphill battle. Unfortunately, it isn't just the politicans who act that way. Look at the base of both parties. The religious right would rather keep a war president in office while hundreds more of our kids get killed than vote for a Democrat who they think might support abortion or use of stem cells. The party faithful each have their own little self centered agend, and would rather pursue that aggend than to put our country first.

The catalyst to the division is Bush. Before 2000 we stood united. Afterward minus the 3 months following 9/11 we have been divided. You can change the faces in Congress all you want, as long as Bush remains president this will be life as we know it.

Notice: I have not said whether Bush is a Good or Bad president. I'm simply stating the obvious.

I don't think this country can come together until a president decides to unite this country again. Whether you are Democrat, Republican, or other, bush has divided this country, and only a new one, regardless of party, can fix this.

Putting the USA first would mean finally dealing with the issues we Americans face day-to-day such as public school education, minimum wage, etc.

If the Republicans hold Congress, the Democrats will of course believe they were robbed. If the Democrats win, they will be after revenge. Since the Republicans have been crucified by the media, undermined at every turn by the Democrats, lied about, and smeared I doubt that political sides will be forgotten.

The Democrats have proven repeatedly that they put nothing above themselves, or of reacquiring political power. They have consistently opposed every measure taken for the safety of U.S.

I sure hope so, but I doubt it. As we are so polarized and I don't see it getting better even after 2008.
