I watch star wars. How does lightsaver work? Is it possilbe to shot out energy like that and suddenly stop at about 1m? Is it possible to keep the energy beam like that in an open air? Also when the lightsaver hit other lightsaver how come it doesn't go thought? aren't they energy waepon not physical weapon with mass?

Since it is a movie, the lightsaber is imaginary. But, taking physics into consideration, it is theoretically possible to "hold" energy within a confined space. The only way to do this would be the manipulation of a gravitational field and/or a magnetic field. Take the sun for instance. It is a superheated ball of gases that has become so hot that it is classified as a new form of matter: plasma. Just like all celestial bodies, the sun is held together by gravity. Now if the future of science allows us to manipulate gravity into a small shaft about one meter long...well that's just something to think about. :)

Energy can neither be created nor destroyed but it can be transformed from one form to another. And Einsteins equation, E=mc2. I think it is possible though it is not possible but in the near future it will be. Matter is also a form o energy in its base so i think this idea of lightsavers is a work of fiction with some validity in itself. And by fiction, i mean it is possible to realise it in future.

I am sorry to break the news to you, but Star Wars is a movie, it is not real. The "lightsabre" is a prop. It does not really do what they pretend it does. As far as I know, nobody has ever been able to contain energy in a shape in open air, apart from "ball lightning", which is a natural phenomenon and is always spherical.

Not to be a d.ick but...it's a movie. I don't think that a lightsaber would be possible. I'm sure energy could be focused to a short distance with great intensity such a laser with a focal point 1m away but it would allow other object to pass through it. I think a lightsaber is a work of fiction.

E=mc^2(energy can be converted to mass example:atom bomb in which certain mass is converted energy) may hold the answer to your question in future.

Probably just whole lot easier to make a portable laser gun. No one's gona take all that trouble so you can have cool looking weapon.
