I am in college now, and I've always loved doing make up and hair. I am smart but am in doubt whether or not I should continue with college or to go to beauty school. I like making others feel good about themselves, look-wise. I'm not a materialstic blonde or anything. I don't fit the common sterotype but I like that sort of stuff. College seems to be so difficult and uninteresting. So beauticians, how did you know you were right for the job and do you regret it?

i have had my license for 23 years. at first it was alot of fun, it is a creative type job and sometimes a challenge. i did make good money plus good tips. i had my own shop which is the way to go if you can. . i dont do hair anymore except for special people. i do still keep my license up.
when you first go to work be prepared to maybe get another job to pay the bills. its takes awhile to build up clients. also, if you work for someone the pay is either 40/60 split or 50/50. hope this helps good luck

I am not sure about being a beautician. But if you love doing makeup Mary Kay is great! You have flexibility, work when you want to, be your own boss, get free prizes and cars, and best of all the money. You get 50% commission. I sell Mary Kay and I love. You would too. Beauticians make good money and are there own boss.
As long as you are talented.
