he build a big wooden claw that picked the roman ships out of the water, a corkscrew in a pipe that turned to move water uphill, and a parabolic mirror to set roman ships on fire (he lived on an island)

I agree. Please spell correctly. There is a myth that he burned ships down with parabolic mirrors, check that out.
