Umm, so I just wanted to know why so many people are against the torture of terrorists? I'm not talking about people that aren't proven guilty. I am talking about the folks that go around cheering 'praise osama!' and laugh when they kill millions of people- the people that we KNOW are in on the murders, and in support, even assistance, to tortureing millions of people each day! Why are you against it? WHY?

Okay- you aren't reading. I mean that when we capture people that want to kill us (that have SAID they want to kill us and that already HAVE killed a bunch of innocent people) why do you not want to get information through any means, about other people (that wish to kill us and already have killed a bunch of innocent people?)

Why indeed.

As a civilized people, we feel the need to rise above and not lower ourselves to the terrorists' standards.

That being said, I totally understand your frustration. Can we fight a war with these Islamic terrorists from the high, moral ground?
I don't think so - not if we want to win.

When dealing with these dirt bags, it is hard to equate the "rights" of a terrorist with the possible slaughter of thousands of innocent men, women and children.

And to compound the issue, shouldn't a person at least act human if he expects to be entitled to human rights?

If the alleged problem comes down to the "rights" of a terrorist vs. the health and safety of innocent people - I just don't see the dilemma here, do you?

what's the clarification of the those that oppose such measures? Is it a human good subject...they sense greater sympathetic to those that ought to kill with out reason than conserving the rustic? And what no count if it particularly is no longer approximately risk-free practices? What if it particularly is purely a count of having "revenge" or retribution for what surpassed off on 9/11? So what? Why could my sympathies lie with the terrorists? I surely don't get why anyone who lives in this u . s . a ., why anyone who enjoys the freedoms of this u . s . a ., why anyone who enjoys the possibilities afforded in this u . s . a . could oppose it. And in case you do no longer think of which you have those freedoms or possibilities, then possibly you ought to purely depart the rustic. possibly you ought to bypass to the countries the place they torture no longer purely enemy warring events yet their very own and protest and spot in case you get something different than a bullet interior the pinnacle. And the 8 modification assertion above refers back to the form... A checklist that provides the framework for the regulations afforded individuals, no longer the terrorists from the middle east that have been water boarded. in case you prefer to coach the form, then permit's make all of them voters....yet then i'm confident that sounds like an stunning theory to those that sense sorry for them......

Sweetheart, I will tell you now I am not against any thing our men can do to them to get the needed information we need to prevent another 911 or some of our planes blown out of the sky, and I do believe these bleeding hearts who are crying so much for them are Anti American saboteurs and should be watched very closely, When they can force information from some terrorist and save hundreds or thousands of American lives, "go for it"
if these bleeding hearts wanted to cry for some one not to be tortured they could go to their local jail or prison and they could cry day and night justifiably, no, they won't do that the ones in prison for stealing a car or lying on a loan or college loan they are really bad people and deserve such treatment, killing our people don't justify torture,

Well lets see...from what I understand Bush says that the US does not have to abide by the Geneva Convention but yet our troops should be entitled to its protection.

Secondly Leader of the country approving the tortures could be held later down the line in an international court for war crimes. Hence why George Bush wants the language of the Geneva Convention changed so he cannot be brought up on charges later.

Third, Everyonoe knows in time of war there is torture, murders, just plain cruel things that occur.

Fourth, Put yourself wearing the other shoe. You don't wear a uniform. You are part of a resistance because some other country invaded your country. You are captured and because you don't wear a uniform...you are tortured and not entitled to the rights of the Geneva convention.

What do you think?

I'm not one of those you are questioning, however, I don't believe they think they are all standing against all interrogation efforts, they qualify their statements with ideals like trial by jury, and prisoner rights. They really don't get it that a population out there as numerous as the entire population of the U.S. are the radical element of Islam. That's somewhere between 15-25% of Muslims world wide. Neither have they put it together that it only took the efforts of 25 of them to bring down 4 passenger jets and two major towers not to mention the Pentagon and the buildings surrounding the twin towers. They look at our military might with its technology and see the poor Muslims throwing rocks and think we can't be taken down. With the whole western world struggling to maintain its own identity with the migration of Muslims into their cultures, with the violence appearing in every western culture, they still think that we can appease the Muslims. They aren't paying attention to the real agenda, the stated purpose of the radical, the real victories they've known over the last thousand years, even over the last 50 years. Lebanon used to be a predominantly Christian nation. Sudan used to be a predominantly Christian nation. Turkey used to be a secular run government. Iran used to be a secular run country. The radical element really believe they are destined to rule the world and the Qu'ran can be interpreted the way they use it. Until the moderate Muslim recognizes that their reputation is at stake, that it is incumbent upon them to face the threat of the radicals before we have to, we will be the only deterrent of radical Islam over-running our own culture.

Stand tall my friend. There are many who live in a bubble and can't cope with reality. They therefore deny what they fear the most. And then they sound like idiots. I'm not for or against torture of known terrorists. Whatever is necessary to make them speak about their plans is great for me.

Good guys don't torture. This is simple and true. It's OK with me if the CIA has some exemptions, noone I know thinks they are the good guys anyways. Our brave men and women soldiers in our Armed Forces are the good guys and should not ever be invovled in the torture of anyone. I hope this makes sense to you.

Terrorist torture = an oxymoron

Just put a bullet in its head before it kills anyone else

Torture to gain information is useless. If I put you in enough pain for long enough, you will confess to killing Kennedy, Lincoln, AND Martin L King... and make it sound like you mean it.. just to get the pain to go away. Unless you are just a sick bastage that gets off on doing cruel things to people, torture serves no purpose.

Hrmmmm...ok, I'll play this game:

So, I've got this person who rejoices in the death and destruction of innocents. We have proof beyond any reasonable doubt, and he's guilty.

Fine.

Now you want to torture him...to become what he is. You want to become the enemy...to do that which you claim to despise.

When you set yourself to hunt monsters...you must be careful that you do not become one yourself.

I am against torture for the same reason I am against terrorism: it is inhuman.
