Yes i do, not like to the store or anything, but when its the weekend, and the kids run outside i don't make them come back inside and put on shoes. I think it good for a kids to stub his toe, or get a splinter. I think that society today has put to much restrictions on kids being kids. There are more important things in the world for us to worry about. And my children don't get sick that often in fact they haven't been sick since like last December. I think it also helps build the immune system. But this is just my opinion.

I don't have any children, but I wonder, in this increasingly micromanaged society, how long it will take before being barefoot outside of one's home is made illegal. It seems possible.

Sure. It's healthy for their feet to get used to different surfaces. It's quite stimulating. In China, they have public parks with feet exercising surfaces. You remove your shoes and walk slowly across a surface that has different textures. Some are almost painful; others feel wonderful.
