If something happened to all the words computers, and wasn't able to program anymore, I'm not sure I could ever work again. I'd break my left hand (since I wont need it) and apply for permanent disability. Anyone else?

Nah, I'd go back to what I was doing before. I was a Graphics Artist before I got into programming and unix system administration.

I think the smart ones would be able to use their intelligence to retrain and get another good job. Something that takes curiosity and brains like an explorer or a scientist.

The ones that got into computers just because of the "big bucks" might be able to retrain. Perhaps something that takes some smarts like electrician or plumber.

Then the ones who can't seem to find their butts with both hands (which is a good 75% of the folks I find on line) would go back to flipping burgers and asking "do you want fries with that?"

Not I, we only got one in the office 6 months ago so we remember when life was quicker on paper. Paper skills are now rare but excellent qualities in an employee. All my staff can also add up without a calculator. No power cut will kill us!

Out of a job?? Out of everything. Disability would be a vacation from the world that everyone has grown accustom too!
