Mice can get fleas. After much investigation, it was determined that rodents bearing infected fleas were the source of the deaths of a few people and many animals in Arizona ... it is a disease dubbed Valley Fever. The source of the black plague in Europe in the middle ages was the fleas from rodents transmitting the disease to humans.
Consult your vet to be sure they are fleas and what type of remedy to use to end whatever the infestation might be.

Yes, mice can get fleas and mites. Change the bedding and buy a mite/flea spray suitable for mice (if you can't find something in a pet shop, go to a vet and they might be able to recommend something). Put the spray on a tissue and wipe the mice, don't spray it directly onto them because it could hurt them/get in their eyes.
By your discribtion it sounds like lice.

Any mammal can get fleas. This is how the bubonic plague spread through Europe - fleas on mice and rats. I would pay a visit to your vet's office about whether they have fleas or mites and ask for advice about de-fleaing them.

ok I just wanted to say that mice can get fleas- but it sounds like mites or rodent lice.
I would go with the same thing someone else said... clean the cage completely- get all new bedding in there, sterilize the toys you have in the cage in case they've become infested, and perhaps check with your vet.
If its lice... your mouse may need to be treated to get rid of them so he doesn't become anemic. See the link below to read more about the various lice, mites, ticks and fleas Rats and Mice get.

They can get fleas. Mites are much smaller than fleas and more round in shape. I would guess it is mites. Wood shavings can have mites in them: in the future, freeze the bag before using it (works good to kill moths that could be in their food also). Either way clean out cage completely and make sure to get any bugs off your mouse and you should be fine.

Have you ever heard of the "Black Death"? It was a plague that wiped out civilizations in the dark ages, it was contracted from rats/mice that had fleas. The infested rats/mice coexisting w/ the people caused illness on such a vast scale that the human race almost became extinct. They call rats/mice vermin for a reason. Watch the Discovery channel and learn.

yes...Mice can carry disease. A particularly dangerous disease carried by deer mice is called Hantavirus and can be breathed in while cleaning up mouse droppings. Mice can also carry ticks or fleas that can convey disease to humans.
