Something Specially
For You
I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard-
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke no word!
I didn't ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn't mind)-
I asked Him to send you treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!
I asked that He'd be near you
At the start of each new day
To grant you health and blessings
And my friendship to share your way
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small-
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all.

Oh my gosh you never have to follow in there footsteps just know that because they abuse substances, they are sick I can educate you a little and you should know abusing substances including alcohol is called addiction, and addiction is a desease. I know it sounds crazy but its true the desease of addiction is very powerful it ruins peoples lives.even though its bad for your health and nothing good ever comes from it. people continue to do it expecting different results every time. It really is a struggle for most addicts to overcome their using. just knowing that there is a cure is a message of hope most people cant do it alone either. the chances of you going down that path is going to depend on how much you know about it. Eventually the time might come when someone tries to tempt you to try something like that and please please be smart & be strong it doesnt mean your not cool if you dont drink or smoke cigarettes or whatever the temptation might be. it means youre extremely smart to say no thanks, even if your parents do those things you can be different as they say dare to be different. It all leads to nowhere. trust me im speaking from experience. Let your parents know how you feel if you can and you just might be the reason they will change there ways communication is so important. I hope this will help you in making up your mind and knowing in your heart that its the wrong decision to make.never accept substance abuse as being ok its so not. life is all about choices the decisions you will make. and each and every choice you make there will be a positive or a negative outcome whether or not you make the right choice is whats important.surround yourself with good people. keep up the good work and keep asking questions. 0

Well, if you have noticed anything that your parents do that inadvertently hurts you, the chances are you don't want to be like them. Parents should set a good example for their children. My father was an alcoholic, and there were times he would hit my mom and has even shot at us with a loaded rifle. I knew that when my dad was sober, you couldn't ask for a better person. He was kind, gentle, but strict to raise us children was morals and such. When the alcohol was involved he was very brutal and us, as children feared him. You never knew what reaction he would have to even the slightest thing.
As you grow up, you learn right and wrong. The decision you make to break the cycle of substance abuse is up to you. Do you want your children seeing what you have seen growing up? Or do you want to set a better example for them and be a good parent with strong foundations? Be a leader and not a follower when it comes down to this situation. Good luck!!

You have a much better chance of being a substance abuser yourself (about 60%) than someone who does not have the social and genetic tendencies that you have. I pray that you will see the damage done to your loved ones and that you will never start to take drugs or drink alcohol. That is the only way you can be sure you will not become dependent on them.

You may be genetically or psychologically inclined to get addicted, but the actions that you choose to take are your decisions alone. You won't grow up to abuse substances if you choose not to.

You don't have to be like them. you can choose not to get into those things. Just because they use or do that has nothing to do with you, just do not partake of the things that you are against. God Bless. You sound like you are very wise. Don't let it get you down.Honey I wouldn't even dwell on it.. Have a beautiful evening.

I believe you have a choice in everything that you do. My dad smokes crack and weed.........I have have not tried either. My mom is a social snob.........I am not that either. I am 35. I choose to be different from both of them because they are both quite miserable

well what are the chances you want to? its your choice. im gonna say the chances would either be really high or really low because... either you see that you have easy use of it and use it. or you see what it does and you dont.
depends on what you think
