A Spanish Explorer is from SPAIN.

The spanish mated with the Indians (Aztec, Incas etc) and the offspring became Mexicans and they live in Mexco. The spanish are from Spain and they conquered many parts of the world including Mexico and its indian peoples.

If you are a Spanish explorer you could be an explorer from Spain, or you could be an explorer from anywhere else exploring Spain, so...in effect, if you are a "Spanish explorer" you could be either. Hope I didn't confuse you!
