The Japanese Empire committed atrocities that largely rivaled those of Communist Russia as well as Nazi Germany. The mentality of the Japanese race can still be seen evident till this day through their large arrogance, as well as seeming superiority. What this translates to is that the Japs thought they were the ****, and were ***** to the rest of the world. We clocked em in the face though.

The bombs killed approx. 300,000. The Japanese easily killed over a million people, most of them civilians. Nanking and the Philippines were bad but nothing compared to Manchuria. There the entire male population of several towns and cities were killed.

~The Japanese didn't kill quite as many folks as the US Bureau of Indian Affairs and the cavalry. What is your point? One attrocity justifies another? In that case, you must agree whole-heartedly with the guys who fly planes into buildings.
