I'm looking for talking points for someone who is from a country ruled by dictatorship to better understand a representational form and how it can work.

Go back to our roots. The Declaration of Independence, Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
We were founded by rebels who wanted free religion seperate from government and declared it a basic human right to pursue happiness in equality with all.
Our beginning is quite beautiful...we have fallen off the road somehow. Jefferson said when Capitalism surpasses Democracy we will become disfunctional. ...Guess what?

both democratic and oneman rule are having their advantages and disadvantatges
in one man rule, if supposed that ruler is not good and selfish and pride the people have to suffer . if ruler is good peace prevails and people cherish.
in democracy is diferent the peopel select and once politician come to power for five years nothing can be done, even if the turned to be violent but can be thrown if people decide after 5 years or three years as the case may be ,
free dom sometimes got to pay big price ,
which is at times union leaders bus strike , pilot strike, postal strike, lorry woners strike and so on not but least banker strike !!!

decmocracy is an EXCUSE to kill more people since hundreds of years. get out of it and look at Islamic solution to today's problems.
