I have a southern U.S. accent and use to not like it because I thought it made me sound ignorant. However, I now love it because its a part of me and always will be.

Except for my singing voice (!), which is good, I don't like the sound of my own voice. It is a creepy, raspy, bass tenor voice from the middle-Atlantic states and sounds like a Mafia capo.

Yes I like the sound of my voice and so do other people. I can't really hear that I have an accent, of course ; ) But I think a southern accent is lovely. And I'm glad you like it too now. Don't listen to people who say that about southern accents, just b/c southerners sometimes speak more slowly doesn't mean they think that way ; )

I was raised in the western United States and I too had a little bit of an accent, but since moving to California I have struggled to correct my grammar and eliminate my mispronunciations. But I have always liked the sound of my voice, I think that most people do. I would be interested to hear from someone that didn't.

I hate the sound of my voice with a passion!!!! Its just the sound. It has nothing to do with accents since I was raised in Illinois and live in Colorado. I don't have an accent.
I love southern accents on girls / women though. Take pride in this heritage of yours.

My mom had a sqeaky voice and my dad has a husky one so my voice sounds jacked up.I hate it ,but i love everything else about myself and know that I should be appreciative that a wierd voice is my only problem. I thinks it great when people have accents ,I don't have one

yeah i do. People say its combined with a southern and eastern accent. its also kinda raspy which makes it kind of unique i guess. i sing pretty good too. =]
