one million. a base hit 2. hit via pitch 3. an blunders commited via a fielder 4. base on balls 5. dropped third strike 6. a fielder's selection play 7. catcher interference 8. fan interference . A sac. bunt that the batter reaches on could grow to be a fielder's selection or an blunders and particular a base hit and does no longer be a sac. bunt at that element.

1. Hit
2. Walk
3. Hit by Pitch
4. Reach on Error
5. Fielders Choice
6. Catcher's Interference
7. Dropped 3rd Strike by Catcher
8. And, finally, I believe if, for example, there is a runner on base, and a batted ball strikes the runner (causing him to be out), then the batter is awarded first base (provided the runner did not cause the 3rd out).

Base hit, fielder's choice, error, walk, hit by pitch, catcher's interference, obstruction, passed ball (on an uncaught third strike), wild pitch (on an uncaught third strike).
The batter-runner is never awarded first base on a balk, and there is no such thing as a catcher's balk. Also, when a batter-runner is awarded first base when his batted ball strikes an umpire or a base runner, that is scored as a hit. A base award for a fielder's using detached equipment that touches batted ball is also scored as a hit or an error, depending on the situation.

Hit, error, fielder's choice, walk, catcher's interference, strikeout/passed ball, and pinch-runner. You can argue that there are other ways -- like someone throwing a glove at a batted ball -- but the eight are how they are catagorized.
The pinch-runner is the tricky one. In 2004, Boston's Gabe Kapler suffered an injury on a homer and couldn't run around the bases. A pinch-runner came in to finish the trot.
