My favorite is Ishares. Another is Powershares. There is also ETF directory, but I don't know much about them. Yahoo has some things that could help, as does cnn.com/business and a similar one at msn.com. Good luck.

Investing in an ETF is largely similar to investing in any shares. The biggest benefit of an ETF is that it tracks interesting things that are not companies and therefore have no shares to list like the market index, oil price etc... This gives you an avenue to trade a trend that is developing in the area of interest.

The most liquid financial instrument in the world today is an ETF called the QQQQ (which used to be known as the QQQ) that tracks the NASDAQ Composite Index. By investing in the QQQQ, you are effectively buying the NASDAQ composite index and if the market goes up, you make money and if the market goes down, you lose money.

For a QQQQ trading strategy that I have used over the past 10 years effectively, please visit http://www.mastersoequity.com

Hope this information helps.

etfconnect.com has all the info. Not an area that needs much research at all. They trade like stocks so pick the sector/country/style you weant & buy 1. IAU - physical gold & EWA - Australia of interest right now. Nothing special to know about Etfs - close end mutual funds.
