I find those ads interesting but I find a problem with them. One, why didn't "they" show the ads when the Republicans were going to win control of congress? Two, Is there a subliminal message telling voters NOT to vote?

I don't really understand or appreciate the idea of not voting, albeit I hate the choices sometimes!

"Don't Vote?" Is that really what they mean? One of their commercials, the one with the smiley politician singing while riding a tractor and serving pie and with his arm around his wife, says, "vote the issues, not the personality," which is quite different than the idea of protesting by not voting. They are at least confused in their language, and at most stupid.

First of all the AARP runs these ads, and they tend to be pretty liberal. My opinion is that they just want people to be well informed before making a choice on who to vote for. They don't want people saying "I'm voting Democratic because I hate Bush." They see that it doesn't make any sense to say that. That's why they want people to go to that website and see the candidates first.

Vote in order that the real winner will be proclaimed. The "Don't Vote" ad is not a proper way of public protest.

I missed these, as I have tuned it all out. I knew how I was going to vote and did so (absentee ballot), so I ignored these commercials.

The problem with subliminal is that there is no concrete evidence it actually works

In the last several elections, low voter turnout has favored the Republican party.
