Small towns are great to start your own Mary Kay Business. Start up costs are low but benefits and rewards are very high. You make half of everything you sell with no quotas or territories. Free training is available at all times. Basically it is a great business to start because Mary Kay is the #1 brand of skin care and color cosmetics since 1993, everything is 100% guaranteed AND best of all the customers wash the product down the drain every night so reorders are a huge part of your income.

Population of 1000 .. THAT is just too few people for most businesses. How about something unique to cater for the population..like a weekly shopping service ... take orders from the residents for items from Walmart, Home Depot and other discount stores.. use your car to shop for multiple people ..charge them for the items you buy PLUS a service fee of say 10% (which is your profit). Most people would not mind paying a little more to have things delivered for them. If you shop 3 days per week .. say Walmart on Tuesday, HOME Depot on Wed, and Grocery Store on WED and buy say $2000 worth of goods each day then you would make $200 per day x 3 days = $600 for the week...pretty good!

Another idea ...local Taxi service? How about contract delivery person for US Postal Service or other delivery company like FEDEX, DHL, UPS?

Grocery Store. People need to eat, and you could be the provider to the main populace.
